Question about iRobot Roomba i7+
What else is going on if I am not ready to open the firewall? Does this model make any sense at all then?

Without the FW entry, authentication in the app does not work, i.e. you cannot program the i7. Theoretically, you could remove the FW entry after programming the i7. I simply put the robot in a separate VLAN without access to my LAN and with its own FW rules.
Just out of curiosity: What kind of entry is required in the FW? Does a port need to be forwarded/opened?
This thing communicates via port 80. What's the problem?
