What can you expect from the ANC (nott)? Background: With the pair of headphones I received, the effect of the ANC is noticeable, but I expected more. Conversations in the vicinity at normal volume are still easily perceptible and mostly clearly understandable even at maximum ANC setting (ex works).

That is a difficult question when it relates to the product itself. I too expected much more from the PXC 550-II. See also my product review. For example, even monotonous noises are subjectively not cut out enough for me: whether hammer drill noise or kitchen fan. With conversations, ANC per se is much more difficult to filter out in time. What also impresses me are all the positive ANC reviews ;-)
