What are the characteristics of the scissor switch technology? How hard is the keystroke compared to other keyboards?

These keyboards are generally quiet and the keys require little force to press.
A special case of the computer keyboard switch dome is the switch scissor. The keys are attached to the keyboard by two plastic pieces that lock into a "scissor" and wedge onto the keyboard and key. They still use rubber domes, but a special plastic scissor mechanism connects the keycap to a piston that depresses the rubber dome with a much shorter travel than the typical rubber dome keyboard.
