Considering the price offered with wireless headphones compared to the basic price, is the product really NAC or really not up to the level of others despite ZEISS lenses? I ask this question in relation to a mobile phone used for its basic functions, i.e. making calls and taking photos.
The Nokia 8.3 is a competent mid-range phone that meets almost all the basic requirements. The only downside is that it's aimed at a very active segment of the market, with more feature-rich devices like the Pixel 5 and Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, but both are more expensive.
As a piece of hardware, it doesn't have all the features of the next generation of phones, such as the fast refresh rate screen or the addition of smart software. But, by updating almost all the basics and offering a bloatware-free Android One experience, it's still a solid choice for any budget buyer looking for a full-featured phone. It's a little big, with the handsets measuring 171.9 x 78.6 x 9mm and weighing 220g. However, its weight gives it a reassuringly solid feel.
It has a four-sensor rear camera that combines 64MP wide, 12 MP, ultra-wide, MP, macro and 2 MP deep parts. As is the case with most phones at this price, the latter two sensors are, according to some reviews available on the internet, pretty useless and have no real impact on image quality if you use the out-of-the-box settings. The automatic mode is capable of taking decent pictures for use on social media. Images are generally sharp and the camera's shutter and auto-focus speeds are nice and fast. Also, images don't appear massively over-processed, which is a common problem on most phones at this price. Colours and dynamic range aren't comparable to a Pixel 5, but that's the case with almost every other phone in this class.
Portraits, where the phone uses the multiple sensors to detect depth and add a bokeh effect, aren't the cleanest you'll find at this price either. While they look great on screen, you'll see some boundary issues in close-ups where the subject and background are blurred. A bokeh effect is one where the main subject of a photo is in focus, but the background is blurred.
The 24 megapixel front camera tells a similar story. The 24 megapixel front camera tells a similar story. It is more than enough to take photos of yourself in daylight and video calls.
In conclusion, if you enjoy Android without skin with the assurance of regular software updates and don't mind having the flashiest phone, then the Nokia 8.3 5G is a solid option in this case, the addition of solid headphones really increases the value.
It's built to last, both in hardware and software, and comes with all the accessories most people need.
