Unfortunately, the graphics card covers the slot for the card. What should I look out for in a PCI extension if I want to buy one, or do you have any recommendations?

If it is not possible to move the graphics card to another slot so that the slot is free, depending on the case or with a case, you can also use a "riser cable" and place the graphics card differently in the case. With an angled riser cable on the F side (=female) of the cable, i.e. where the card is then inserted, it should work in principle with any case. Depending on the graphics card, however, PCIe 3.0 or PCIe 4.0 compatibility must be ensured. I don't know at the moment whether there are 4.0 riser cables.
Otherwise, always choose a mainboard with more PCIe slots right from the start. Then you are a bit more flexible with the slots. However, this again depends on how many PCIe cards you want to install, what slots the mainboard offers and which PCIe standard (1x/4x/8x/16x) the cards come with.
