Unfortunately, I only have a mini display port on my old Surface Pro 4.... Is there enough power to drive the screen ? or is it mandatory to have a USB-C ?
Not quite right, but it is still suitable. An adapter is the solution here, which transmits both image and power. An example of this is the Wacom Link Plus adapter.
No, everything works (only) via USB-C. If you don't have a USB-C port, then this external display is not suitable and you have to look for one with a displayPort!
