The monitor has several clever functionalities to avoid burn-ins (I did not notice them, but they also can be turned off). 2) No. The only "smart" function that I noticed is the automatic dimming which cannot be turned off. It is not a problem for games, but I did not like it when working with Outlook & co (except if you'd go for strict darkmode...): on the one hand, really outstandingly great, sharp, colorful, fast picture; but on the other hand not so bright when the screen is white...
