Touch ID only works with certain Apple products with M1 processors and not with older products with Intel processors. In my opinion, this should be in the product description, then I could have ordered the cheaper version without Touch ID.

Touch ID does not work for me (Mac OS 12.3.1, 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9). Too bad, I thought it would work because of the comment above. :/ But I might get a new Mac with M1 soon. Too bad it doesn't say so anywhere in the article.

On my MacBook Pro (2016) with Intel Core i7, logging in with Touch ID works without any problems. This may be related to the version of macOS. I have macOS Monterey installed on my MacBook Pro.
