This part works well with all kinds of USB peripherals, only with USB hubs it sometimes has problems. Don't ask Digitec's support. A certain Filip Zivic tried to make me understand that the 4 USB ports are only meant for mouse and keyboard and only work for them. They laughed at StarTech.com support and said: "of course not. the KVM switch works for all USB peripherals, otherwise it wouldn't have 4 ports". it should actually also work with USB hubs. you can actually connect 200 USB hubs in series.

Basically, I am quite satisfied with the device. It does what it is supposed to do. I have connected a desktop and a laptop. Both monitors (2 x ASUS ROG Srix XG279Q 27") as well as a Logitech G810 and a Roccat Kone+ are connected. Unfortunately, I often experience that the monitors do not receive the input after switching, i.e. they do not receive an input signal. I can rule out the cables, as I have already completely changed the DP and USB cables once. I therefore assume that there is a loose contact. Unfortunately, I've had the device for more than 2 years, so I don't think I'll be able to get a replacement...

My experience with this is that not all devices are reliably recognised when a hub is connected. For example, I have an Apple Cinema Display 24" connected to it. On the one hand, of course, it is connected to the DisplayPort for the image, but on the other hand it is also connected to one of the USB ports. The camera, microphone and speakers as well as the additional USB devices plugged into the hub on the back of the display should run through it. Unfortunately, the camera, microphone and speakers are not recognised, at least not in my setup.
