This is the second time we have ordered the UE Boom 3 and both devices didn't want to charge from the start. We have tried various cables and storage devices. Does UE have a problem/ has anyone else experienced this?

Logitech has placed the charging socket very deep in the device so that most charging cables do not reach deep enough into the device as they are usually a little too wide. It actually only works with the included charging cable. As I always found this very fiddly, I bought the charging base. It saves a lot of hassle:
