There are two DisplayPort cables in the package, one 1.5M and the other 45cm (really? even if you place the PC directly next to the monitor, this is too short). On the short cable there is a sticker for the 80 GB standard, and the cover explicitly states DP 2.1. The "long" cable, on the other hand, has no information about which version it is. I checked directly with the manufacturer -> no information either. Can anyone confirm that the long cable is actually 80 GB capable or do I now have to get upset and buy a new cable?

The problem is not that Asus does not include a longer cable, but that the maximum cable length for DP 2.1 is still 1 metre. If the cable is longer, the transfer rate of 80 GBit/s can no longer be guaranteed. So at the moment there are simply no real longer DP 2.1 cables. The forthcoming DP 2.1b standard should then make corresponding cables up to 3 metres long possible.
