Samsung EVO Plus
256 GB, microSDXC, U3, UHS-I
There are 2 articles with the same designation but different prices. Article: Memory card Samsung EVO Plus 256 GB, microSDXC, U3, UHS-I. What is the difference, apart from the price?
Here we have the MB-MC256SA/EU model, which is the newer version. The other model (MB-MC256KA/EU) is sold by another supplier and is the predecessor.
The predecessor has a specified read/write rate of "up to 130Mbit". For the current model (this one), the read rate is specified as "up to 160 Mbit" and the write rate is left open (lower than the read rate).
So hypothetically there is a performance difference on paper (which you could hardly claim). The EVO series is primarily suitable for IoT devices and this is where the cards fulfil their purpose.
Telaran82 has already described the technical difference. The price difference of almost CHF 100 can only be described as abnormal, the technical differences never justify it. If you follow the price development, you can see that the newer and more expensive card was also sold for CHF 34.70 at times. Unfortunately, you can observe such abnormal and barely comprehensible price jumps for various items at D/G.
