Question about LG Velvet

The smartphone should be capable of 5G - but when you go to Network and Internet / Mobile networks / Network mode in the settings, you don't get 5G to choose from. Could this be due to the SIM?

Hi, found this but it doesn't seem to have done anything for me, still no 5G in network mode!

How to activate 5G in Switzerland on the LG Velvet:

Despite the many updates (now Andoid 11), LG still hasn't deigned to offer the 5G option in the network settings. Here's how to proceed manually by going through a hidden menu:

- Enter the code # * 462633 * # 900 # on the phone dialer as if you want to call someone.
- In the hidden menu that appears, select "Field Test" and then "Modem Settings". A list of setting options is now available for the network.
- Select "RAT Selection" which gives you the different options regarding the generation of the network your Velvet can connect to.
- Select "GSM / WCDMA / LTE (5GNSA) Auto".

And that's it, your Velvet can now connect to 5G if it's available where you are!
I'm on Sunrise with an NLD with Velvet stamp, model LM-G900EM with Android 11.

This also works for the LG Wing (secret code with ... * # 100 # at the end, which corresponds to the LG phone model number).

Only problem, now under the settings "Network and Internet" / "Mobile Networks" / "Network Mode" in the parameters the number "26" appears under "Preferred Network Mode". And in the options you still find at most "2G / 3G / 4G automatic". You have to go through the hidden menu again to reactivate 5G when you select an option in this menu.

I really don't understand LG's logic to offer a 5G-stamped phone without the 5G option ...
Nevertheless, everything works, under Sunrise in any case.
