I bought 2 Duracell EN-EL15 and am very satisfied. I recommend buying either an original Nikon battery or a branded product. Duracell has the EN-EL15. Otherwise I don't know of any branded batteries for the camera.

All batteries always lose a certain amount of charge.
In general, it is best for batteries to be stored with about half their charge removed from the unit.
The question is how fast your battery discharges and how old it is.

There are several alternatives on the internet, but I would go for a branded product.
