The monitor has a USB C port. Is this also a Thunderbolt port? In the Dell user manual, the following specs are given: "This port supports USB power, data and DisplayPort video signal. The USB 3.1 Type-C port provides the fastest transfer rate and the alternate mode with DP 1.4 supports a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, PD 20 V/4.5 A, P" Isn't that all Thunderbolt can do? But it's not named that way. Many greetings

Hello Catlynn225,

Have a look at this page: https://www.macwelt.de/ratgeber...

In my opinion, the decisive factor is which interface the COMPUTER has. You can certainly "supply" a USB 3.1 Type C interface with a Thunderbolt (3) computer, but not vice versa.

Many greetings

The connection Powert a MacBookPro but also simultaneously pulls the image signal via the same cable. Quite practical. On the question of whether USB 3.1 Type-C is also Thunderbolt: No. 3.1 has a bandwidth of 20 TB out of 40.
