The length is specified as 305mm. With a mATX format, the mainboard should be shorter, right?

This seems to be a mistake by Digitec; the manufacturer specifies the appropriate "9.6 inch x 9.4 inch ( 24.38 cm x 23.88 cm )", which fits into the 244 mm x 244 mm of mATX (https://www.asus.com/us...)
