Question about i-tec USB-C Nano Dock

The i-tec gets very hot when I connect it. Even when only the network cable is connected and the i-tec is only used as an adapter. Is this normal?

Seems to be normal, at least mine (there are several in use) also feel hot. Felt, because our hands already feel 37 degrees as very warm and somewhere above 45 degrees as hot.
