The hero 5 has gps. I need the cam for diving. For example, with the olympus tracker, I can record the location of a shot and the depth. Can I also determine the depth of a shot with the gopro5?

In my opinion, this is not possible. The telemetry is recorded via GPS in real time and later added to a recording in the editor if necessary, but the GoPro does not have a pressure gauge to measure the water pressure or depth. Some Olympus trackers have this sensor because they are also specially designed for diving.
