Question about Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset

The headset comes with a USB adapter... Now I have misplaced or even lost it. Can any USB adapter (e.g. item 14375129 - edimax BT-8500 Nano) be used or will this not work? I currently use Bluetooth on my computer, but not all PCs I use have Bluetooth. The original adapter cannot be ordered as a spare part, can it?

Yes, this headset works with all Bluetooth adapters (that support the audio profile).
