The energy efficiency class is stated in the product description with the top rating A+. Now there is a sticker on the package and also enclosed in the package with the EU energy table, on which a rating of E is printed. The good energy efficiency was the main reason for buying this monitor... how can I understand this discrepancy? I am currently thinking about exchanging the monitor for another product... I would appreciate a good answer from customer service! Thank you very much.
As I understand it, there will be a new scaled EU energy consumption labelling from 01.03.2021, so that a current A+++ will become a new C, or in this case an A+ will become an E. You can find more information by scanning the QR code on the label.
Reply from Digitec:
From March 2021, there will be a new EU-wide classification of energy efficiency classes for electrical appliances, including TVs and monitors. This industry-wide change was decided due to the difficulty for consumers to understand and compare products, as most devices already fall into the best classes and very few into the lower classes. So in the future, most displays will be assigned to a lower energy efficiency class than before. However, there will be no changes to the technical data or the power consumption, only the way in which the values are measured and classified will change. For example, it is possible that a device that was previously in energy efficiency class B will now fall into class G.
These new labels will be visible to European consumers in shops and online from 1 March 2021, but some manufacturers have already started using them. Our teams are currently busy with process changes to ensure all product data on our sites is up to date.
Where there is a QR code on the attached label, you can scan this to find out more. This will also ensure that it is the latest information, as the previous energy efficiency class labels did not have QR codes.
I hope that I was able to help you with this and wish you happy holidays. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
A research by Digitec would be very desirable.
You can put your mind at rest. I had the correct sticker with A+. The wrong sticker must have slipped in. In addition, the monitor is also listed with A+ at Dell.
