This happened to me when the machine was new. Problem solved as follows: Switch on the machine, disconnect the power cable and leave it overnight. In the morning, the brewing unit returns to its rest position. For it to work, the on/off switch must not be operated! Simply pull out the cable while the machine is under power. LG

This happened to me as well, as a result of a mistaken manipulation by an acquaintance who was visiting. After the coffee symbol was pressed, water had to be refilled. Unfortunately, after inserting the water tank, the coffee symbol was pressed again (which is not necessary). The brewing unit then locked into the inclined position as you described. It was not possible to return the brewing position to the normal vertical position (switch off, unplug, let 15 minutes pass, switch on again). As a result, I had to return the machine for repair while the guarantee was still valid.
