I am also a fan of many programmable buttons and use this mouse from SteelSeries privately:

The driver software is a bit "heavy" with lots of additional features (which I don't really need), but I'm very happy with the mouse and the many buttons. You could also just leave the mouse connected to the system 24/7 via cable if charging a wireless mouse would bother you.
