HP G2 + Audio Module
Thunderbolt, 1 Ports
Still have an older HP laptop (PB G5-450) without USB-C port, only USB-A/SS. Can this product still be connected?
Hello Camouflage. The answer is no. Thunderbolt is a high-performance interface that handles data, audio, video and power and allows daisy-chaining of up to 6 devices. It is marked with a lightning bolt. A USB-C port is not per se a Thunderbolt port, although both use a USB-C connector. It is therefore not a question of whether your NB has a USB-C port, but whether this port is a Thunderbolt port (cf. "lightning"). PS: The USB-C connector has only been in use since Thunderbolt 3. Thunderbolt 2 and possibly 1 still had a mini-DP connector. Greetings
