Sorry for the probably stupid question, but can the beamer be connected wirelessly via WLAN to an equally WLAN-capable DVD/Blu-Ray player?

Not such a stupid question. So far, I have only rarely managed such WLAN connections (computer/beamer, computer/TV, TV/beamer, camera/computer ...), and I dutifully use a cable - which then also works. Regarding your question: theoretically it should be possible, but how it works in practice is anything but clear. You would have to try it out on this beamer.
