Sorry for the possibly stupid question, but can I also use the Sonos Play 1 for the TV?

No, you can't do that (directly). If you have a Sonos Playbar or Base, you can use 2 Play:1 as additional speakers. Only the Playbar or Base has a connection for Apple TV.
