Yes, you can do that without any problems.
It even connects to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth.
The button under the mouse can be used to switch between Bluetooth and dongle. This allows the mouse to be connected to a notebook via Bluetooth and to another device with the dongle, but not simultaneously.
