Addition: sorry Basis set has only 1 lamp and adapter But the only difference between Basis and extensions is the power adapter with 3 connections:)

Should work, basic set simply has a power adapter with connection for 3 lamps

If you buy 2 base sets, i.e. 2 adapters and 4 lamps, then you can buy 2 individual extensions, i.e. you can supply 3 lamps with power per base set.
This refers to the setup alone as a HUE System lamp without the Play function.
How exactly the Play works can perhaps be explained by someone else or on the PhilipsHUE homepage.
I use the lamps as a supplement to the existing Hue system.
Ps: And you still need a bridge for 69.- in addition.
