This is the Chinese model (SM-S9080). Can we expect any loss of functionality? Like will 5G work on Swiss networks? Will we get updates?
According to the supplier:
"It is the Hong Kong Version, not Chinese mainland. It’s a global version and specs/bands are same as the EU version. Therefore connectivity should be given same as the EU version. "
I also have the Note20 Hong Kong Version. 5G works great with Swisscom. But i still use 4G+ because 5G uses way too much battery (30% lesser battery life). The only thing that does not work properly is the adressbook. Its not sortable by surname and givenname. This works diferently in China :-) I've got updates as normal (Android 12 came a bit delayed)
I have been using the Hong Kong version of the Note 20 Ultra (SM-N9860) since 16 months, bought here. I have never felt limited in any ways. Worked just fine in IT, FR and DE. I did not enable 5G because 4G+ was good enough for me. It updated automatically recently to One UI 4.0 and Android 12.
