Quick question: I need the monitor mainly for surfing/gaming. This ''Dell S2716DG'' and ''ASUS MG279Q'' monitors are in the final rounds. Both 144hz/27inch/WQHD This monitor here has a TN panel and G-sync... The other one (ASUS MG279Q) has an IPS panel and no G-sync (it has Freesync so it's useless for me^^). Which is better? IPS or NT? Do you really need g-sync?

Enclosed is a great guide to choosing the perfect gamer screen (then I don't have to explain it all individually, it's late): https://www.locafox.de/magazin...

Nevertheless, here's my conclusion: the Asus MG279Q is better in practically every respect. Display IPS vs.TN. Integrated speakers. More ports. Supports 3D. Price. On-site warranty vs. bring-in. It's just effectively the question: Do you need G-Sync? (Maybe do a little research on the internet, I guess).

IPS has better, richer colours. With the TN panel, the colours change when you look at the screen slightly from above or below.

Adaptive Sync is not really necessary at 144hz. G-Sync is also extremely overpriced, which is why it's worth buying an AMD GPU if you want Adaptive Sync. You save 200 to 300 francs on the monitor, which you can then use for a faster GPU.
