I can only agree with Turbowurm, the camera also works without a connection to the mobile phone and the battery does not last very long. One charge is enough for about 2 hours of interval shooting (1 photo/second). The instructions do not recommend charging the battery and taking pictures at the same time.

First of all, this is not a dashcam. The answer to this question is yes. If an SD card is inserted, the camera records until the battery is empty, and there is the problem. The battery does not last long. I have used it a few times with an additional battery, then the internal battery of the camera gets hot and breaks. So it is not designed for continuous operation.
