LG V30 or Huawei Mate 10 Pro Dear smartphone fans, two absolutely top phones are coming onto the market these days. Which would you recommend to me; the LG V30 or the Huawei Mate 10 Pro? I certainly need a phone that is not defective if it falls out of my jacket pocket. What are the arguments in favour of the Huawei and the LG? Thank you very much for your answers.
As a nschschub, have now also got me the V30, the camera is significantly worse than that of the Mate 10 pro....
I had ordered the V30, but because the delivery date was delayed more and more, the first camera tests were not outstanding and there are some error messages, I decided to buy the Huawei Mate 10 pro. You can find my review at the device. If the price of the LG V30 drops again so quickly, I might get it as a second device and decide between the two.
I opted for the Mate 10 Pro. For the simple reason that the smartphone offers more important key features for me personally. These are:
- Better camera - especially better picture quality
- More battery life
- A desktop mode
- Higher frequency of updates
Disadvantages are bearable:
- Resolution or pixel density of the display
- Poorer sound quality
- No Bluetooth V5
- No wireless charging
In my opinion, both devices are relatively similar. But both have their advantages.
Advantages LG V30:
. Higher resolution (2880 x 1440 pixels).
. Higher pixel density (If VR is of interest.
. Newer Bluetooth version (5.0)
. Has a good DAC for high quality sound reproduction.
. Wireless charging possible
Advantages Mate 10 Pro:
. Impressive 20 MP dual camera from Leica
. High battery capacity (4000 mAh)
. More memory (6GB vs 4GB)
. Interesting Kirin 970 processor with AI support.
. Guaranteed to come with Android 8.0 Oreo
I personally opted for the Mate 10 Pro yesterday during the Black Friday deal. My reasons for buying it were the chipset with artificial intelligence, the Leica dual camera and the design of the device itself.
In conclusion, I would say that if you want as many features as possible (DAC, wireless charging), you should rather go for the LG V30.
