Question about Eve Energy - CH

I've just bought this Eve Energy plug - and I can't register it. I don't have a "real" SmartHome at the moment, but "simply" a WLAN with Sonos and a Sony TV. So it seems to me that I need to set up a SmartHome now :-) It seems that I now need a "control centre" for Matter devices that support Thread. What exactly do I need to get these two Eve Energy plugs working. I had a feeling I'm not the dumbest when it comes to technology, but I'm out of my depth or too old :-)
