The old ones, which I still had, work fine though... In the manual, they say they should have the letter R next to the date. The old ones I have have the -R. Thank you for the tip. According to the manufacturer's instructions, the Maia S33 should only be used with original Caffitaly capsules. There are now many different capsule systems, most of which are limited to one brand of coffee machine.
