Yes, AMD is generally very backwards/forwards compatible. Maybe take a look at the recently released B550 boards with the newer chipset.

I did a quick google: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x is "Ryzen 2nd Gen" and this is supported by this board, according to the product description.
