Question about Sony RMT-VP1K remote control + IR receiver

No, unfortunately it's not. I also bought this thing for the Alpha A65. But there's really nothing to be done, our A65 lacks the connection. With the Sony DSC RX100 V, for example, it works on the MULTI connection (micro USB: charging, data, external devices) without any problems. I don't know the name of the connector, but you need a much bigger plug with 3 pin-sized holes, I can't find anything suitable here at Digitec. An alternative would be infrared FB, but the release angle is supposed to be very limited.

I can only confirm that this remote release works well with a Sony Alpha A77!
