Is there a difference between this and dog-comfort distilled water from the supermarket?

Good question. It is indeed pure water. I can imagine that it is a purification stage. For example (guideline I am making up) distilled water from the supermarket is 99% pure, what is called super pure is 99.999%.

Yes, there is still corrosion protection and algae suppressant in it.
