Is the storage medium formatted in Fat32?
I have had a 64GB stick for a long time. It is formatted exFAT and works perfectly. I exchange data between iPhone / iPad and Windows PC.
Here is an explanation of exFAT (copied from Computerbild):
exFAT: What is the file system all about?
exFAT is the abbreviation for Extended File Allocation Table and is, just like FAT32 and NTFS, a type of file system. The exFAT format was developed especially for flash memory and is therefore mainly used to format USB sticks, SSD hard drives or other removable media.
The exFAT system is a mixture between FAT32 and NTFS and allows you to use your external hard drive or USB stick under a different operating system.
Compared to the classic FAT system, exFAT has the advantage that it can also be used for larger data media. The maximum cluster size is 32 MB.
In addition, there is no limit to the size of files and partitions that can be stored on a data carrier formatted with exFAT.
Formatting on exFAT is recommended above all for smaller drives, as the file system offers better performance here than the other file systems.
I have the 32GB stick and it is formatted with FAT32. You have to install an app on your mobile phone, which isn't exactly amazing. I have found the Sandisk iXpand Flash Drive to be better and, above all, faster. Good luck and stay healthy.
