No, unfortunately it doesn't work. The "magnetic circle" of the iPhone 12 is larger than the counterpart on the gimbal. When you hold it, you can feel the magnets, but it doesn't hold because the size is not right. This is the same with the 'naked' iPhone 12 as it is when it's in a MagSafe case. I have the iPhone 12 in the transparent MagSafe case, and then the clip with magnet from the gimbal goes around it, which works pretty well. The clip is a bit short, or the case a bit thick, so it doesn't hold very tight, but it works. If you want to be absolutely sure, it's better to get a second cover and stick the 'sticker magnet' on it that comes with the gimbal. Or get a cover that is not so high in the middle, then the clamp would also grip well.

The magnetic adhesive blocks the wireless charging. If this function is important to you, I would work with the clip, which can also be removed magnetically. That way you don't have the magnet on your smartphone every day.
