Is the lens compatible with the Alpha 7 II ?
Yes it is. I use it on a Sony A7R. And I can only say one thing. It's awesome. It's the sharpest lens I've ever had.
About the compatibility:
It is compatible with every camera that has the E-mount.
Say
a6000/a6300/a6500
a7/a7s/a7r
a7II/a7sII/a7rII
a9/a7rIII
as far as I know also with the older a5000 series.
With the a5xxx/a6xxx, the focal length is then extended by 1.5x. So you would have 28x1.5=42mm.

In my opinion, yes, I use it on my A7 without any problems and I don't think there is any difference in terms of compatibility.
