Question about Logitech R500s Graphite
Is the laser dot sufficient to be seen from the furthest seat to the screen in a room 17 metres deep? If not, what would be a suitable alternative?

Rather no. The dot is very small and weak. As far as I know, more powerful laser pointers with larger "dots" have been banned in Switzerland/EU for several years.
It does what is legal today. I would consider a Logitech Spotlight Plus.
