The docking station can be used with the MacBook Pro. However, the monitors are mirrored because Apple does not yet support Multi Stream Transport (MST), which is necessary to control the monitors individually.

since i work with a pc, i don't know the answer to question a.
second question: in order to connect a monitor at all, the USB port on the lap must be of the latest generation (USB 3.2), i.e. it must be able to transmit a video signal as well as data, otherwise nothing works.
