Is the disc a normal USB disc (plug/play) when delivered or does it have to be "unlocked" first (as with the T1)? Do I have to "activate" it with a current Windows or MacOS computer?

You can also "lock" the T3 just like the T1 and protect it with a password. The tool used is the same as for the T1.
Unlike the T1, however, it is initially open and works immediately.

The disc is exFat formatted when delivered, which means that it can be read and written to by all common operating systems without further intervention, just like a USB stick.
In addition, there is a folder on the disc containing the Samsung Security Enabler software for Android, MacOS and Windows.
