Is the device Bluetooth-capable or how does the wireless connection to Android or iOS mobile phones work?

No, it does not work with Bluetooth. The sound is transmitted from the transmitter (TX) to the receiver (RX) via radio. This has a connection for a 3.5 mm jack plug. This is connected to the smartphone. Attention: in order for the sound to reach the smartphone, a plug with 3 rings is required or an additional "TRS to TRRS adapter".
