No, it is not airplay-capable. And I don't consider the solution suggested on the Sonos website, that you connect an Airport Express or an AppleTV, as a solution. In this way, I can also make any active speakers with AUX airplay-compatible. Especially since the Sonos PLAY 1s don't even have an AUX.

There is also a somewhat more "technical" one. Using a Rasperry Pi.

That's what I did with mine. Works perfectly. It's just not quite plug 'n' play. With some software and this hack, I am now able to get sound to my Sonos system from any device in the house, regardless of the application, etc. Freedom for your Sound:-)
