Yes, but it's important to understand that it's just a brush that passes over the top of the lens. The underside of the lens is obviously not cleaned. In my case, the result was OK.

I can't confirm this, but given that most dvd players can read cd's, I'd say it should work.
I think so. But manual cleaning of the lens with alcohol and cotton buds is always better.
