Is the battery also compatible with the Canon Powershot SX280 HS?
Yes, but you can also find this out by looking at the specifications of the SX280HS, e.g. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet....
It clearly states that NB-6L is the correct battery type. With Canon, the masses are not dependent on the rear characters. I still have some NB-6LH and compatible plus a camera to give away for a modest fee.
