Last Friday, we tested the live translation function with a Swiss Apple ID and the AirPods Pro 2. This involved translating a US series from English (USA) into German (Hochdeutsch).
Although the function is not quite as impressive as presented in the keynote, it is quite satisfactory for a start.
Who hasn't dreamed of being able to understand a taxi driver swearing in New York, or to hear the traders at a Turkish bazaar when they are making fun of you as a tourist?
However, only a few languages are currently available: German (High German), English (UK/USA), French, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil).

According to our own research, the Live Translation function is not yet available in Europe. Apple does not currently provide any information on when and whether this will change in the near future.
