Is it worth upgrading from a GTX 970 to an RTX 2070 Super? Or will a new generation be released soon?

Decided against upgrading the GPU in February and instead treated myself to a new motherboard, CPU (Ryzen 5 3600) and RAM upgrade to DDR4.
Now that the 3000 series is around the corner, I made the right decision for once :D
