Question about ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q

A 970 GTX is definitely far too weak. I myself use a 980Ti overclocked to 1.5 GHz and don't get the 100 FPS in BF1 that I would like. I'm waiting for the 1080Ti myself.

I don't think it's worth it. The VRAM is simply too low to be able to play reasonably at such a resolution. You would probably have to set the settings very low for current, demanding games. To get a rough idea of the performance of the card at this resolution, you can imagine FPS between 2560x1440 and 4k. These two resolutions are covered by most hardware testers. I have an overclocked 1080 on the thing myself and would recommend not using anything below that.
