Is it possible to set this keyboard like the Huntsman so that WASD can be pressed gently and the depth of the press is registered? I would like to be able to steer more smoothly without always having to switch to the controller.

it's actually possible with this keyboard, which is why it's so popular, but you have to go through steelseries GG

You can't do that with the keyboard. You would have to build your own custom keyboard with switches that suit your needs.
